Important BYO Food / Drink Charter Information
+
General BYO Drinks Information
We supply all drinking glasses including shot glasses. Please do not bring along any single-use products as XTsea strives to minimize our impact. Amenities fee includes all cups, plates, servingware, etc, as well as eskies and BBQ, garbage disposal and cleanup. XTsea does not hold a liquor license so we cannot supply alcohol directly to you, but we still have you covered!
Order all your beer, wine, spirits, soft-drinks, and juices online from Dan Murphy’s and we’ll pick it up, load it onto the boat, and have it on ice and waiting for you when you step aboard. All offered FREE as part of our amazing service to you!
Note this service is only for when you are catering all or most of the drinks for your event. It’s not for us to pick you up a six-pack!
Create a Dan Murphy’s account if required, select LEICHARDT NSW 2040 as the store, and a 30 minute pickup. You’ll need to nominate David Downs 0417593899 under Contact Details as the ‘Who’s Picking Up’.
Make sure your order is available for pickup at least 24 hours before your charter! Let us know the details and we’ll do the rest!
(Some hints! Cans are much preferable over bottles on board a boat, and many people buy way too many drinks. For a four hour charter, an average of six drinks per person is usually more than enough.)

General BYO Food Information
We have found simple foods to be the most effective. We have a really good BBQ which is our main cooking appliance. Although we have an oven and microwave the capacity is limited. We supply all plates cutlery, crockery and serving items. Please note nice fresh sliced white bread is much easier to eat than bread rolls.
Regardless if your event is catered or BYO food, your crew will prepare, cook, and serve everything for you. All you need to do is enjoy your event.
+
What happens in poor weather?
We will proceed with the charter unless the skipper deems conditions unsafe. This has never happened. We will try to find a sheltered spot, but if it's raining the chances are you'll get wet so dress accordingly.
+
Are there any additional limitations on guest numbers or dates permitted for BYO charters?
Our maximum capacity is 30 guests, however if it's raining this makes for a crowded vessel. Cooking and serving food when that many people are crowded undercover can be a challenge so please be understanding with the crew.
+
Are plates, glasses / cups, cutlery included?
All plates, glasses, cutlery, serving ware etc. are PROVIDED. Please DO NOT bring any single-use products as we try to minimize our impact.
+
Are BYO spirits allowed?
Absolutely. Shot glasses are available if required... just ask.
+
Is ice provided onboard?
Ice is included for all charters!
+
Is there a BBQ onboard?
Yes and your crew will do the cooking so all you have to do is eat it!
+
Is drinking water included?
Yep. Plenty of wonderful drinking water is provided FREE. It is Stillwater, but is filtered through a quality system and is excellent. It saves you dragging extra weight along.
+
What cool storage is there onboard?
XTSea has limited refrigerated storage available however your drinks will be sorted. We have two large eskies up top and any overflow drinks are kept in the galley in tubs and the eskies will be restocked as they are emptied.
+
Can I dropoff supplies at the boat before the charter?
Absolutely! That will mean your drinks are already stowed and on ice as you step aboard and your food is waiting on the table. We arrange pickups from Elliot Street Wharf, Balmain early on the day of your charter or even the day before.
+
Are glass bottles allowed onboard or just cans?
Glass bottles are allowed but consider bringing cans since they are lighter and safer since they won't smash.
+
Does the boat provide napkins/serviettes?
This is a consumable so we recommend bringing your own for BYO Charters.

Wharf Availability Advisory – Summer 2024/25
Wharf maintenance and limited wharf options in the CBD are causing challenges across the industry. This may lead to delays or limited availability at popular wharves.
CBD options: King St Wharf & Casino are popular however availability is limited.
Aquarium wharf is an option but please note delays can occur & boats may not provide extra time to compensate so we advise using other locations. Other wharfs that may experience unpredictable delays are Pirrama Park, Double Bay & Rose Bay.

Can you accommodate special dietary needs, allergies, or specific food safety concerns?
We do our best to work with our suppliers to accommodate various dietary requirements (e.g., vegetarian, vegan, gluten-free). However, because our food is sourced externally, we cannot guarantee a 100% nut-free environment or the complete absence of allergens such as gluten. We encourage you to let us know in advance about any serious allergies or dietary needs so we can liaise with our caterers.
If your charter is BYO (Bring Your Own) catering, please note that we are not responsible for the quality, storage, or safety of food or beverages brought on board by guests. We recommend following proper food-handling practices for any items you bring.
If you or your guests have any significant concerns or severe allergies, please contact us so we can discuss the best way to address them.
+
What is the bond for?
The bond is taken incase there are damages caused by your group during your charter.
The no.1 cause for bond claims is broken toilets so please tell your guests not to flush things like wipes or tampons down the toilets - just a small amount of toilet paper is Ok.
Vomiting around the boat will incur fees. Don't bring Sparklers, confetti balloons, glitter (candles by request only) as they will stain the boat.
+
Can we bring a baby? Is there an age limit? Are they counted as guests?
Yes babies are allowed onboard - there is no age limit. Yes, kids of all ages are included in your guest count.
If you have young kids coming, please let us know in advance.
+
What happens in poor weather?
We will proceed with the charter unless the skipper deems conditions unsafe. This has never happened. We will try to find a sheltered spot, but if it's raining the chances are you'll get wet so dress accordingly.
+
Are there any water toys onboard?
Yes - and all provided at no extra charge. XTSea has the biggest sized Aqua Lilypad swim mat, and a Hobie Stand-Up stepper board. We also have a deck shower to rinse off after a swim, and loaner swimwear and a few loaner towels if people have forgotten to bring their own. Use of water toys depends on how windy it is.
+
Smoking - is it permitted and are there any restrictions?
Smoking is not permitted however vaping is allowed outside the cabin.
+
Is there a sound system and what connectivity is there?
Yes XTSea has an amazing top-of-the-line 2000W Fusion sound system with 11 speakers and a subwoofer. We recommend you provide us a Spotify playlist which will be running as we dock for your boarding. Spotify album art is screened onto our 80cm LCD and if it's getting dark we have an overhead disco-light, coloured lights in the speakers and neon-look lights along the side of the vessel. We also have WiFi on-board.
+
Footwear - are there any restrictions?
All footwear is to be removed when boarding. We roll out the red carpet and you place your footwear into a tub as you board. You can leave socks on but they will likely get wet so we recommend they are removed.
+
Can we have a DJ?
There really isn't room on board for DJ equipment and we cannot provide power safely. Make your Spotify playlist public and fire it up on our amazing system.
+
Is swimming allowed?
Swimming is permitted until 30 minutes before sunset. The motors need to be off and the lifelines opened by the crew. There is a deck shower to wash off afterwards and if guests have forgotten to bring bathers we have a limited number available for free loan. There's also a free sunscreen.
+
Where can we pickup and dropoff?
We will go anywhere our mast allows however, we can't use Ives Steps. We have a permit to pickup from ferry terminals as well as public jetties.
+
Are there any additional rules that apply to specific events (eg 21st Birthdays)?
Hens and Bucks Parties allowed.
+
Any other rules the organisers and guests should know?
Decorations: There really isn't room on board to make decorations worthwhile and we DO NOT permit balloons.
We have a defibrillator onboard for your safety. No Raft-Ups. 2 crew (both Master 24's) are always supplied. 1E Survey - cannot cross the heads with more than 8 guests on board. Pet-friendly. We offer a 6-person RIB tender with 15HP motor available for use if required. Water taxi’s are quite expensive so should guests wish to join late or leave early, we are happy to run them to shore or a convenient ferry terminal.
