Maximise Your Thrills with Water Toys On Your Sydney Harbour Boat Trip
Water toys are things like stand up paddleboards (SUPs), giant floating lily-pads, inflatable toys and even water slides. Looking for boats with lots of toys on board? Then you definitely need to book a catamaran, which tend to specialise in water toys - though some other boats also carry them.
Read on for everything you need to know about water toys for your next day on the water, starting with costs.
Are water toys free to use or is there a charge?
It really depends on each individual boat. Some boats will charge for water toys by the hour or for the duration of a standard charter (four hours), while others will have them for you to use at no cost.
Let’s now look at what is available and how much they could cost, if the boat charges for them.
Water slides
You can’t imagine how much fun a water slide is! Seriously, there is something about rocketing down a slippery slide into the ocean off a boat. As you can see above, this catamaran has it all going, with a pretty steep slide off the cabin roof, as well as a couple of SUPs and a floating lily pad for good measure. But the water slide puts all the others in the shade :)
Larger yachts, catamarans and superyachts tend to specialise in having these onboard - but you can also call us on: 0428 164 440 and ask us to recommend boats who have them. Prices will vary depending on the boat and length of hire.
Floating lily-pad
Want to be in the water, but still be able to relax and chill without having to swim? Then look for a boat with a floating lily-pad - which is a large foam mat that floats on the water. Named after the real-life plants, they are a soft and comfortable surface to relax on, sunbathe, or goof around on. The pad is tied to the boat, so there is no chance of you floating off out the Heads!
If a boat charges for use of their lily pad, expect to pay $100 to $150 for a 4-hour charter.
Stand-Up Paddle Board or SUP
If you want to be on the water, and not in it then a stand-up paddle board or SUP is a very chilled way to do this. If you have never been on one, think of it like a large, stable surfboard with a paddle. It’s not compulsory to stand up, so you can sit and paddle - and you can also fit up to three people on a SUP. There are solid, foam and even inflatable SUPs - but you can have the same amount of fun whichever you choose.
If a boat charges for SUP hire expect to pay $50 to $150, or some boats will offer this as a freebie!
Floating toys
Have an uncontrollable urge to bob around on a bright pink flamingo with a drink in your hand? Then your wish can come true with all manner of floating toys available on any boat that specialises in parties and maximum fun on Sydney Harbour.
The good news is that these inflatable floaties are usually free to use!
